Comparison uses decoded pixels
The comparison uses visible RGB and alpha differences. Hidden RGB differences in fully transparent pixels are ignored. With a zero threshold, small changes from re-encoding a JPEG can still appear as differences.

Choose the first and second images. Their names and dimensions appear above the preview.
Adjust the second image opacity to inspect alignment. Set a difference threshold and generate the result.
Red pixels exceed the threshold. Check the changed count and percentage, then download the difference PNG.

The canvas uses the larger width and height. Missing areas count as differences. The tool does not guess alignment, shift images or stretch them to match.
No. Red only indicates different pixels. You decide whether the change is intended.
Compression and re-encoding can change pixels slightly. Raise the threshold a little to filter those differences.
Downloads contain the difference map. The overlay is an alignment preview only.
Separate source coordinates from display scale, then use the ruler, color picker and diff tool together.
